Job Description

The Lead Teller will play a support roll to the management team. They will assist with the supervision of the teller staff, to ensure efficient teller operations during business hours. Provides guidance to tellers in Sales, customer transactions, balancing daily settlements, and meeting customer needs.

Credentials, Experience and Skills:

  • Spanish/English Preferred.
  • One-year related experience and/or training. One year of retail sales, service and cash handling experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Proven sales track record.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and listening.
  • Basic computer user skills.
  • Working knowledge of calculator and ability to be trained and efficiently operate banking system.
  • Strong basic math ability.
  • Reasoning ability – ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problem involving concrete variables in standardized situations

Physical Requirements:

Frequently requires use of manual dexterity and repetitive motions, primarily with the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to occasionally lift and exert force of up to 40 pounds.

Job Requirements

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support teller staff with guidance with more difficult transactions. ​
  • Act as a role model for the teller staff (Teller Operations & Sales Production).
  • Ensure cash is secured according to policy throughout course of day. ​
  • Give approval for overrides on cash withdrawals based on authorization limits (Under$5,000.00).
  • Support management in providing feedback on Teller production and referral goals. ​ In addition to meeting assigned sales goal.
  • Assist in ensuring the teller line is effectively operational. ​
  • Adhere to general bank regulatory procedures including BSA
  • Assist branch management with filing and record retention of daily reports.
  • Opening and closing the Drive-up (If remote drive-up exist in branch were employed).
