Job Description

Resp for all phases of process design work for commercial projects supporting global customers across industries, including developing heat and weight balances, equip sizing & specs, developing PFDs & P&IDs, and developing and executing project plans for delivery of eng'g packages. Lead various eng'g pros and initiatives at any given time. Coordinate w cross-functional global team is essential to ensure that the robust process is followed, resulting in timely and accurate proj execution. Will also mentor engineering disciplines assigned to proj.

Develop/evaluate process concepts to optimize the manufacturing process. Interact w internal teams/external partners/3rd party service providers/process equip manufacturers to conduct proc development experiments & trials. Accountable for basic engineering packages including, Process Flow Diagrams

Detailed Heat & Weight Balances for new or modified processes.
Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's).
Equip lists and spec.
Delivering on-schedule & within proj budgets
Utilize specified software, models and proprietary tools to size equipment.
Validate calculations, heat and weight balances data, equipment sizing and equip spec information pre-packaged by other Proc Engineers.
Work w plant operation personnel to troubleshoot oper issues.
Identify, evaluate, and justify process improvement projects
Interact w 3rd parties such as equip vendors, Engineering, (EPC) contractors and industry consultants.
Participate in or lead process HAZOPs, risk identification and mitigation activities.
Lead in the continuous improvement effort of design methodologies and tools to address customers' needs and the productivity.

Manage projects from conception to completion w a keen focus on exceeding client expectations
Identify and align with client goals, objectives, and expectations
Manage client communication and problem resolution
Direct internal project resources, coordinate meetings, & produce proj reports
Ensure proj documentation and deliverables meet client specs
Manage proj budgets, schedules, and cost expenditures to ensure contract req's are met
Forecast project duration and resource req's
Manage and review change order impacts on proj budget and schedule
Initiate and manage subcontracted projects for engineering, fabrication of piping, structural steel and vessels, and other services such as painting, insulation and E&I work
Ensure fabricated equip met client specifications and regulatory req's
Travel to client for meetings, project reviews, equipment inspections


BS ChE, ME or comparable engineering discipline
Proj mgt experience.
Proven exp managing multimillion-dollar construction or manufacturing projects
Demonstrated leadership, negotiation, and relationship building skills
Proven exp in managing and evaluating equip suppliers, engineering firms, and subcontractors to ensure project schedule, budget, and quality requirements are met
Proactively support continuous improvement processes by developing and recommending changes
Exp with specification of equip such as reactors, tanks, heat exchangers pumps, and vessels
Working knowledge of proc instrumentation, control valves, and control loops
Ability to use chemical engineering principles and technoeconomic analysis to develop and evaluate new process concepts/configurations
