Job Description

Data is continuously generated by hundreds of thousands of Cat machines that are operated by our customers around the globe. Thousands of post-sale transactions are generated as part of the long-term maintenance and operation of Caterpillar equipment. The efficient use of data-driven Demand Planning is essential for the RIOP (Resource Industries Operations and Product) division to provide the Right Parts at the Right Time .

As a Demand Planning Insight Analyst , you will join a team that focuses on discovering the future of aftermarket demand through the analytics of field data, thus ensuring that the best decisions are made by our customers to maximize their OTIL.

You will be responsible for leading the development of demand planning insights and liaising with our internal and external customers. Comfortable working in challenging environments with a contagious passion for leveraging data analytics to inform decisions, you will play a key role in sales development projects as well as part of availability initiatives by communicating demand planning data/insight and representing our team.

By joining the Demand Planning team, your contributions will drive the future forecasting actions taken in the Resource Industries Operations and Product division. You will be an integral part of our team of talented demand planners working alongside data scientists. You will gain experience in a vibrant and diverse multinational organization and develop your understanding of business practices and the data-driven revolution.

Job Duties:

  • Understand business needs and key decision points to ensure alignment.

  • Organizing and transforming information into comprehensible structures for the customers.

  • Create and deliver insights to support the planning decisions to maximize OTIL.

  • Provide relevant visualization to generate insights and ease customer understanding.

  • Lead on establishing future data requirements to deliver on business objectives.

  • Identify and define new improvement opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Science or Engineering or equivalent.

  • 5+ years of data/business analyst experience.

Top Candidate will also have:

  • Strong data-driven skills with the ability to organize, analyze and disseminate a significant amount of information.

  • Robust visualization skills (Tableau and/or PowerBI).

  • Ability to work with technical & non-technical stakeholders with the ability to take & deliver.

  • Strong verbal and written communication to deliver complex solutions to various functions and hierarchical levels.

  • Knowledge of Alteryx.

  • Experience in project management.

  • Experience with data warehouses (i.e.: Snowflake) and knowledge of relevant relational databases.

  • Good logical reasoning skills.

  • Ability to use Python and/or SQL to do exploratory data analysis.

This position may require 10 % travel.
