Job Description

COMPANY seeks a highly innovative Chief Marketing Officer to be a core member of the senior
leadership team. This CMO will be a leader responsible for developing a world-class marketing
strategy and comprehensive customer journey to drive continued growth and scale for the
business. Digitally native, strategic thinking, engagement with operating businesses, talent
development skills, and a strong fit with the company’s core values are critical. The ideal
candidate is a consumer-driven marketer that is both a creative thinker and data-driven with a
proven ability to develop and execute effective strategies and to build and lead high-performing
teams. You will bring classical brand marketing skills to COMPANY, but also be a disruptive thinker
and not afraid to question the status quo. Above all, we need someone with exceptional
leadership, communication, marketing, and project management skills, who can lead her/his
teams, and foster collaboration with cross-functional teams, to accomplish our goals and
improve marketing efforts.

Your Primary Duties and Responsibilities will be: 

Create and own the go-to-market strategy for COMPANY by setting clear objectives and
goals, researching and defining audiences, and developing marketing strategies
Drive alignment and strong collaboration throughout the marketing organization
Build and mentor marketing team, providing clear paths to personal growth and a strong
record of establishing role expectations and accountabilities - important to rely on
internal teams versus external/agency
Develop and refine a comprehensive customer journey, including end-to-end customer
communication touchpoints that deliver timely and appropriate education
Responsible for developing best-in-class cross-platform marketing campaigns and
programs. Plan, implement and optimize customer acquisition, activation, retention
campaigns across digital and traditional marketing channels
Interpret and analyze data to make informed marketing decisions as it relates to B2C +
B2B growth, acquisition, retention, and sales
Partner with leadership to employ strategies that deliver Revenue and EBITDA goals
Provide executive gravitas in working across all levels of the organization to inspire
productivity, development, and creativity

Digital strength; expertise in and record adopting evolving tools, applications,
technologies, and platforms in marketing
Proven experience successfully working as a business partner with a leadership team;
builds trusting and effective relationships with leaders across the enterprise
Record of creating, building new processes across an organization. A change agent who
thrives with ambiguity and affects positive, constructive change
Deep B2C expertise (B2B experience is also preferred). Ideally has been trained in a
best-in-class environment and has been tested in applying their toolkit in an innovative

Pivotal Expertise & Experience
Industry Experience: Experience within consumer products or manufacturing business
(an innovative product/brand is preferred)
Strategic Business Partner: Possesses the competence and personal chemistry to
operate as a strategic partner and business confidante of the CEO and leadership team
Understands and communicates COMPANY’s strategy as effectively as the CEO and the
strategy leader
Leadership Experience: A proven and exceptional manager and motivator of people and
teams who has a track record of recruiting and developing high potential people and
setting high standards for marketing personnel across the organization
Growth Orientation: Has the experience and/or clear ability to help the company navigate
its current transformational track. Demonstrated experience transforming an organization
and the marketing function through people, process, partner (external), and platform
Executive Presence: Proven experience working with and influencing senior levels of
leadership, including frequent interaction with an engaged board
