Summary

This client is looking for a Safety Manager who has experience, is willing to travel when necessary, and can help out with current and future Government/Federal projects in their pipeline. This individual must already have experience in construction as a Safety Manager to be considered.

Client Details

My client is a mid-sized general contractor based just outside of Downtown Chicago, serving the area for the last 40+ years. They've established themselves as one of the areas most reputable businesses and go-to contractors for work within the Government/Federal space. They are actively seeking a Safety Manager to join their growing team.

Description

  • Complete jobsite safety inspections for all projects (MA based projects)
  • Combination of field and office based position
  • Assist in the development of project health and safety programs
  • Work with third-party safety consultant on field inspections
  • Work alongside the Director of Safety
  • OSHA inspections
  • Assist Superintendents with establishing and implementing proper fire prevention, evacuation and fire control procedures including compliance with NFPA 241
  • Assist with facilitating safety trainings and managing training records
  • Ensure that Superintendents are requiring jobsite orientations for every new worker on site
  • Ensure documentation is provided by Subcontractors to verify they are conducting the proper trainings. If necessary, assist with facilitating trainings in order for them to be in compliance with Federal and State standards

Profile

The ideal Safety Manager will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction /safety capacity
  • Willing to travel when necessary
  • Proven tenure
  • Experience within Federal/Government work
  • OSHA certified
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Computer skills: MS Office and Procore
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
