We are currently searching for a Senior Demand Supply Planner to be based out of Harvey, IL. Reporting to Director of Pricing Metal Framing, this person will be responsible for driving industry leading customer service levels and inventory optimization. This role is charting the customer to the supply chain through the creation and sustainment of lean based demand planning and supply chain techniques and programs. Additionally, this role works cross functionally with Sales and Operations to ensure that the supply planning processes are executed to meet customer needs while cost/service tradeoffs options are considered to drive continual business improvement and control.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5-7 years of experience of supply chain planning, purchasing and scheduling or prior success as a Demand Planner or equivalent position at Atkore International. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Work with sales, marketing and operations to transform sales plans to production and inventory plans for current and new products. Engage and align with new product introduction and development plans.

Prepare, manage, and communicate both short-term and longer-term executable production plans that maximizes inventory turns and minimizes excess inventory while meeting customer requirements.

Facilitate capacity planning discussions with manufacturing.

Balance demand plans with supply capability, determines risks and capabilities of product supply by creating and managing tools that communicate demand for each plant (does not control the schedule or production).

Continuously monitor sales, production, and inventory to provide recommendations to production schedulers to meet customer demand and communicates outcome of the discussions to all stakeholders.

Responsible for setting up, monitoring, and improving Service and Delivery Metrics.

Collaborate with the business unit leaders to create and present the monthly KPI Metrics.

Develop and manage consignment inventory strategy utilizing production plants, Atkore distribution centers, and 3rd party agent warehouses to achieve working capital goals and meet market service standards.

Conduct root analysis to develop and implement corrective actions and communicate resolutions to all relevant stakeholders.

Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and demand planning systems in accordance with Global Supply Chain goals.

Identify and lead efforts to drive continuous improvement in areas related to job function. including reducing working capital and improving customer service levels.

Develop demand forecasts based on demand patterns and business trends.

Work with customers, sales team, and supply chain management to improve forecast accuracy.

Identify opportunities to meet customer demand during constrained supply.

Update customer service and sales team about product availabilities.

Maintain inventory levels based on future customer demands.

Audit annual agent warehouse physical inventory reviews.

Identify and manage excess and obsolete product.

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in supply chain planning, purchasing, and scheduling.

Knowledge of all aspects of demand planning, production planning, production scheduling, forecasting, inventory management, and lean material techniques.

Strong sense of urgency for customers and attention to detail in communication.

Ability to thrive in a fast paced ever changing work environment as well as a collaborative team atmosphere.

Innate drive, critical thinking and analytical skills, and excellent follow-through.

Demonstrated successful professional track record.

Excellent attention to details and follow up skills.

Understand inventory strategy, product supply, deployment and production planning.

Strong quantitative and analytical skills (creating queries).

Bias for action.

Ability to manage complex processes and drive efficiency improvements.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Pivot, data mining, and data analysis skills.

Experience in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) or material requirements planning (MRP) system, JDE experience a plus.

Ability to work with remote teams in an effective manner.

Proven ability to identify areas for improvement for lean advancement and champion change.
