We are currently searching for a Demand Planner to be based out of our Harvey, IL headquarters. Alternative locations would be at our Downey, CA or Hebron, OH plants. Reporting to Vice President and General Manager of our Security business unit, the Demand Planner’s primary role will include forecasting and production planning for our Security business. A successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of forecasting models and a high aptitude for creating advanced planning tools.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Business, Supply Chain or relevant field and at least 3 years of relevant experience. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Creates monthly forecasts based on Customer demand and inventory goalsCommunicates suggestions on inventory and labor planning for management approval

Daily, Weekly and Monthly tracking of delivery metrics to ensure strong Customer service

Communicate with multiple production teams in order to execute to monthly forecasts

Work closely with Customer service and sales teams to plan and win large project based orders

Analyze profitability by product group and raw material family

Assist in analyzing input costs to determine sales prices and standard costs

Continuously improve and refine the SBU’s Kanban system.

Assist in vendor analyses

Perform ad hoc profitability analyses around topics such as demand accuracy, competitive pricing, and labor utilization

Position will require frequent communication with production partners and occasional visits to areas in which designated PPE will be required.

Position will require sitting and standing.

Employee may occasionally lift and/or move boxes or equipment

10-15% travel may be required

Qualifications include:

Bachelor’s degree required in business, supply chain, or other relevant fields

Minimum 3 years of demand or inventory planning experience

Proven experience in creating Excel/Database files is required with SQL query building experience preferred

Proven ability to identify areas for improvement for lean advancement and champion change

Ability to communicate effectively and comfortably with all organizational levels. Must include written and verbal skills

APICS certification or Six Sigma/Lean Principles knowledge a plus

Demonstrated skills in implementing and using formal continuous process improvement techniques

Ability to react appropriately to changing priorities and impending deadlines

Experience using an ERP system such as SAP, Oracle or JD Edwards
